Meeting Re-cap: Saturday, April 25th, 2026

(Prepared by Renée)

A great turnout this week with 17 members and 2 guests joining us!

  • Early birds this week: Kamari, Jordan, PJ, Jevaughn & Renée — we salute your commitment to punctuality!
  • Attendance: 17, plus 2 guests
  • PJ hosted our icebreaker: attendees ranked themselves silently according to several criteria — shoe size, birthday, and more. A fun, lighthearted way to kick things off.
  • Jordan facilitated the discussion, deftly guiding the conversation as always.
  • Much of today’s discussion focused on the tension between inclusive reform and self-preservation, and whether gradual, strategic expansions of power can truly break cycles of extractive institutions.
  • Several members expressed excitement about finishing the text and starting a brand new book next week!
  • We finalised plans for our friendly pickleball tournament on May 2nd. The payment deadline has passed — if you’d still like to attend and haven’t paid, please reach out to PJ today.
  • Post-meeting chit-chat, as per usual.

See you all on Saturday, May 2nd for the final 3 chapters of Why Nations Fail!
